RH Secur24 Basic 24/7 Chair – Black Leather or Black Fabric

The RH Secur24 is a control room chair: a seat that is never empty, occupied around the clock by a succession of operators of different sizes, in monitoring, dispatch, security and process control. Flokk developed it for exactly that, with a robust steel construction, a hardened steel block and a tilting mechanism built for continuous use rather than an eight-hour day, extra-thick cushions, and every adjustment lever duplicated on both sides for left- and right-handed users. It is certified to BS 5459-2, the British standard for heavy-duty and 24-hour office seating, as well as EN 1335 and GS. It was sold as the BMA Secur24 until BMA Ergonomics merged into RH on 1 January 2025.

This listing is the Secur24 Basic held in our Sydney warehouse in two upholsteries: black Trento leather, and black Forever fabric. The chairs we hold are configured as photographed, with the height- and angle-adjustable headrest, padded flip-up armrests, a polished aluminium base and castors for hard floors. Soft-floor castors, a coat hanger, a weapon recess in the back cushion, holster protection and hygienic or protective covers are options, and other RH-approved 24/7 fabrics and leathers are available to order.

What makes it a 24-hour chair

The seat and back cushions are extra thick, the seat 11 cm, and ergonomically shaped so pressure is spread through a long shift. The 648 mm backrest has a large angle of inclination (18 degrees) and a lumbar support that adjusts from 180 to 290 mm above the seat, operated from the side of the backrest. The sliding seat adjusts depth from 379 to 514 mm to fit users of different heights, seat height runs from 410 to 535 mm on the standard gas stem, and the mechanism gives dynamic seating: the seat follows your position as you move. The padded armrests flip up and away for getting in and out of a console, and the headrest supports the head and neck when you lean back to watch a bank of screens.

Dimensions, load and guarantee

Seat width 488 mm, backrest 648 mm high and 496 mm wide, base 680 mm across, chair weight 30.2 kg (Flokk's RH Secur24 factsheet, measured to EN 1335-1). Foams and standard fabrics are tested to BS/EN 1021 parts 1 and 2. BMA's Secur24 literature publishes a maximum static load of 234 kg for the heavy-duty mechanism; that is a static load test, not a certified maximum user weight, and Flokk's current factsheet publishes no user weight limit for the chair. RH's general published maximum user weight is 150 kg. If a rated capacity is a mandatory requirement in a tender, contact Chair Dinkum and we will confirm the current certified figure with Flokk before you submit.

Flokk provides a 5-year guarantee on RH chairs approved for control room 24/7 use, and the Secur24 is one of them; under Flokk's published terms, upholstery is covered under the 24/7 guarantee only where it is an RH-approved 24/7 fabric. The 10-year RH term you may see quoted elsewhere is the standard-use term (normal use up to 9 hours a day, users up to 150 kg), not the control room term.
