Beschreibung
Humanscale Liberty Mesh Task Chair
The Liberty is the chair that made Humanscale's name. Designed by Niels Diffrient, it has no recline tension knob, no lumbar pad and no tilt lock. Its mechanism reads your body weight the moment you sit and sets the recline resistance to match, and its Form Sensing tri-panel mesh back takes the shape of your spine rather than pushing a fixed curve into it. Sit down and it is set; stand up and the next person gets the same result.
We stock the Liberty in Humanscale's black configuration (black frame, black Form Sensing mesh, black upholstered seat, standard cylinder, standard hard castors), with height-adjustable Duron arms or armless. Both versions are held in our Sydney warehouse and delivered Australia-wide. Chair Dinkum is an authorised Humanscale reseller.
Features
- Weight-sensitive recline: the mechanism sets recline resistance from your body weight, with no levers, knobs or tension springs to adjust
- Form Sensing tri-panel mesh back: three non-stretch panels contour to your spine and give lumbar support in every position
- 18° of recline plus 8° of backrest tilt that keeps the back against you as you move
- Contoured seat cushion with a waterfall front edge, upholstered in black
- Height-adjustable Duron arms, or armless for a narrower chair that tucks fully under a desk
- Die-cast aluminium and steel frame, black; five-star base; standard hard castors (Humanscale's carpet castor; soft castors for hard floors to order)
- Rated for users up to 181 kg (400 lb)
- BIFMA LEVEL 3, SCS Indoor Advantage Gold, Declare Red List Free and Living Product Challenge certified

With arms or without? The arms are height-adjustable and suit keyboard and mouse work at a fixed desk. The armless Liberty is 14 cm narrower, 1.8 kg lighter and $200 less, and suits sit-stand desks, hot desks and anyone who wants to tuck the chair fully under the desk. The mechanism and back are identical on both.
Liberty or World One? Both are Niels Diffrient designs with weight-sensitive recline and the tri-panel Form Sensing mesh back. The Liberty has an upholstered seat and a 15-year warranty; the Humanscale World One LM has a mesh seat, a 12-year warranty and a lower price. Our World One LM review sets the two side by side.
Warranty: Humanscale's 15-year, 24/7 warranty on the frame and mechanism, and 5 years on textiles, cushions, arm pads and castors. See our warranty page. Australian Consumer Law rights apply in addition and are not limited by this warranty.
