THE HÅG Capisco 8010 is a plastic chair with a seat and back. Like the other chairs in the Capisco range, the Capisco Puls is designed for active sitting. No other work chair is so well adapted to work stations of different heights. Sit down and adjust it from a normal table height to a semi-standing position.

The seat has an integrated cushion for improved comfort and can be adjusted between low and high working positions, all the way up to standing, enabling you to be more dynamic in your movements while still balanced. We often recommend the HÅG Capisco instead of kneeling chairs as it offers the same level of comfort and movement while providing greater support - better for slightly longer stints of sitting. The seat height, seat depth and back height can also be adjusted.

Please note that these measurements are not absolute — they may vary slightly from chair to chair. The 150 mm lift is the standard lift according to EN 1335 Class A; Chair Dinkum supplies the 200 mm lift as standard.

On maximum user weight: Flokk does not publish a maximum user weight for the Capisco, so we do not list one. The 110 kg figure is a condition of the guarantee rather than a load rating: the ten-year guarantee covers normal use of up to 9 hours per day for users up to 110 kg, and beyond 9 hours a day the term is five years. Ninety-nine per cent recyclable is worth pausing on: the fully upholstered Capisco 8106 sits at 50%, so the Puls is in a different league at end of life.

Flokk is certified by DNV-GL to ISO 14001. The Capisco Puls carries an EPD (life cycle analysis based on 14025-EPD), GREENGUARD and Möbelfakta.

Standards and certification

The HÅG Capisco Puls is tested according to EN 1335 Type A (2000), ANSI/BIFMA, EN 16139 and GS. Flokk is ISO 9001 certified.

Cleanroom rating — ISO 14644 Class 4 and 5

Flokk has carried out an evaluation of particle generation from the chair in cleanroom use, and the Capisco Puls satisfies ISO 14644 Class 4 and 5. In practice that qualifies it for laboratories, pharmaceutical production, medical device manufacture and semiconductor and electronics work — environments where most task chairs simply cannot be specified.

One condition matters and we will state it plainly: the cleanroom rating is only approved with black antistatic vinyl. Choose a fabric and the chair no longer carries the rating, however good it looks. If you are buying to a cleanroom specification, order the black antistatic vinyl and nothing else, and call us on 02 9640 0642 if you need the documentation for a tender.

Fire safety — BS 5852 Crib 5

The HÅG Capisco Puls is BS 5852 Crib 5 approved with CMHR foam. Crib 5 is the fire standard commonly required in healthcare, aged care, marine, hospitality and some public buildings.

The procurement catch is worth knowing before you order rather than after: CMHR (fire resistant) foam is available on request but must be specified at the time of order, and it adds longer delivery lead times. A chair that arrives on standard foam cannot be brought up to Crib 5 afterwards, so if the specification calls for it, say so when you place the order and allow for the extra lead time.

Design and awards

The HÅG Capisco Puls was designed by Peter Opsvik, and the design is patent- and design-protected. It holds the iF product design award 2011, the reddot design award winner 2011, and the Award for Design Excellence from the Norwegian Design Council.

Care and maintenance

Vacuum with a furniture brush, or wipe with a clean white cloth or sponge slightly dampened with clean lukewarm water. Do not remove plastic parts, and do not attempt to open the seating mechanism.

Warranty

Flokk provides a 10-year warranty against production defects on HÅG chairs in normal use for up to 9 hours per day, for users up to 110 kg. Chairs used for more than 9 hours per day carry a 5-year warranty. Fabrics and leather are covered for 5 years. Normal wear and tear is excluded. This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
